Of course, many hear of Machu Pichu, though we also hear of crowds and such &#8211; not our thing.   We also heard of Patagonia &#8211; no, not the apparel brand &#8211; the region in southern Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some research led to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Torres_del_Paine_National_Park\">Torres del Paine<\/a>, a Chilean national park &#8211; and further research suggested it fit right in our sweet spot.  4 or 5 nights in-country, with day hikes from Refugio to Refugio.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seemed to check all the boxes!   Hiking, food at night, glaciers, and definitely off the beaten path.
