We had won a silent auction for a three-night stay in Bar Harbor, making the perfect excuse to plan a trip northward. We’d already visited Acadia National Park a few years back, and we knew there was always more trails to explore. But we hadn’t been to the Canadian Maritimes – Nova Scotia and PEI – together, so it seemed a great opportunity to explore further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After some exploration, we settled on a road trip itinerary which began with the ferry from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. From there, we decided on Lunenburg, NS – a UNESCO World Heritage site – followed by a drive to Prince Eduard Island, then a return to Bar Harbor for the stay silent auction stay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While it included a lot of drive time, it is definitely a beautiful region with a slower pace vibe. Sure, still touristy sections and a seasonality not unlike what we have on Cape Cod – yet, a quiet and peaceful area worth the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
