'13 - Cinque Terre, Italy

With one of the kids studying abroad in Italy, it seemed like a great opportunity to plan a trip to coincide with their time there, time to visit a bit of time for ourselves - to see the countryside and get in some more trekking.

Our trip started with a weekend in Tuscany, centered in Arezzo. From there, we headed to the Ligurian Peninsula and Cinque Terre for some time exploring the 5 towns. On the trailing weekend, we headed to Florence for a bit of culture and some amazing food.

Tuscany is beautiful, with the vineyards, hilltop towns, and wide open space, contrasting with Cinque Terre, nestled between the mountains and Mediterranean. Florence of course, is Florence.
