The Tetons and Yellowstone

Having done a few international multi-day trekking adventures, it was time to explore some of the US national parks. Of course, there are many choices – we chose the Tetons and Yellowstone both because of their remoteness and because neither of us had been in that part of the country.

We were certainly not disappointed! Getting there was a multi-flight adventure to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, followed by a drive to Grand Teton National Park, enabling a first taste of the breathtaking scenery. And from the Tetons, Yellowstone was a “short ride” northward.

The combination of the two National Parks offering many hiking and outdoor opportunities.

Yellowstone
The second half of our National Park Adventure took us north from the Tetons into Yellowstone.   According to Google, it was only about 70 miles from the Tetons into Yellowstone and the Old Faithful Inn.    But this being ‘fall’ and the road repair season is incredibly short, we found out 2 weeks before our journey that part of our road to the Inn was closed for repairs. Tetons and Yellowstone Photos
For something like the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, it’s really hard to find words which adequately describe and do justice to the raw beautiy of the area (and no, i’m not a writer or poet). The Tetons – Paintbrush Divide

The Tetons
Our trip began with an idea – As happens, we were hiking somewhere, had just finished the day, and we’re talking about where to go next.
